UX Research Lead
This role is located in Sunnyvale, CA
Goldfish (a wholly owned subsidiary of Target) isseeking a UX Researcher to craft the consumer product experienceworking with our UX designers, product managers and engineers.
You draw on your thoroughknowledge of Human Centered Design and the UX lifecycle (research,conceptualization, iterative design, research, and delivery) to help lead thedefinition and creation of innovative solutions that address customer needs andmarry them with business goals in a scalable, strategic way.
You are dedicated to learning how Goldfish can change theway people shop online on both existing products and discovering new ones.You’ll translate research insights into powerful stories that help shapeproduct design and development and garner leader’s support within the team. Youutilize quantitative and qualitative research methods and know when to use oneor the other. An ideal candidate has design experience and can contribute tothe design process, including sketches and wireframes. In a relatively small team, you are passionate about morethan specifically your function and love the opportunity to learn.
●Leadand conduct research across team’s projects together with others from the UXteam or Product Managers.
●Prototyping(sketch, wireframe, etc.) from research insights to better tell engagingstories and findings.
●Workwith designers and engineers to help shape process and encourage studies whenapplicable.
●Definemeasurable metrics for success of a given user test.
●Definemeasurement metrics for observable behaviors.
●Promoteemotional connections to our guests through intuition and research and conveyreal guest stories to unveil insights.
●Workclosely with developers to ensure design consistency and attention to researchinsights.
●Generatecreative ideas that address the needs and desires of our consumers.
●Clearlyand succinctly document study results
●Offerdesign support where needed.
●4year degree in Anthropology, Social Science, Design Research, Psychology orrelated field (including design degrees) or 4+ years experience practicing UXdesign research.
●Solidmix of research expertise and design capabilities.
●Highcomfort level in working within a self-directed culture and navigatingambiguity.
●Opennessto critique from other disciplines and curiosity to learn from a spectrum ofperspectives.
●Demonstratorof in-depth understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods, user-centereddesign principles, and a solid grasp of contemporary trends in web and appdesign
●Abilityto design, set up, run and analyze usability studies, focus groups and customerinterviews.
●Experienceworking in a design team.
●Astrong interest in design and technology trends.
●Understandingof design thinking research processes.
●Understandingof UX best practices and design trends.
●Understandingof design theory and concepts to create effective visual communication withhierarchy and balance (E.g. Typography, color, space, contrast)
