Super-Computing Infrastructure Systems Engineer

Description: Target is looking for a highly motivated, creative Super-Computing Infrastructure Engineer to design and develop super-computing clouds for execution of massively parallel applications. Specifically, the engineer in this position will create and maintain a network of high-core count servers with high speed interconnects to reliably run super-computing applications requiring thousands of processors.

Must have experience with networking and operating systems, at an administrative and development level, application deployment, large-scale system monitoring.

A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar is required. Post -graduate degree is desirable, but not required.

Experience in the following areas is required:

  • High performance, low-latency networking, TCP/IP stacks
  • Network management and operation
  • Operating Systems, Hypervisors, Kernel Modules
  • Application deployment automation
  • Scripting languages
  • Security, System Design, Troubleshooting

Experience, knowledge in the following areas is desirable:
  • Computer system architecture
  • Processor architecture
  • C/C++
  • Bash, Awk, Perl
  • Ruby, Python
  • Parallel Programming in symmetric multiprocessor systems
  • Computer system architecture
  • Operating Systems
  • Global process communication and synchronization
  • Scalability of systems and applications (Amdahl's Law in practice)
  • High performance I/O applications
  • High performance databases
