JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for providing data and analytics to optimize customer assortment within the multi-unit segment. Generates proactive opportunities based on independent analysis and is responsible for driving results. Communicates with executive-level internal customers on findings and proposed direction. Presents analysis to external customer leadership via phone or in-person during business reviews. Supports team on opportunity calls and EI analysis as needed. Coaches and mentors peers and reviews work for quality and consistency.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Alignment and identification of proactive/priority conversion opportunities identified by Manager and Segment VP.

  • Responsible for tracking performance against established goals and expectations.

  • Participate in opportunity validation calls to identify the scope of requests from the multi-unit team.

  • For assigned requests, define data requirements, obtain data needed for analysis and validate accuracy.

  • Develops strategies, assumptions, and analyses.

  • Research, select and recommend a course of action for assigned opportunities by completing the analysis and creating deliverable(s) to communicate with the multi-unit team

  • Review and mentor Analyst I and Analyst II in best practices for data analysis and presentation.

  • Lead ad hoc training based on the need to demonstrate proper procedures for analysis and renewal.

  • Reviews completed work for accuracy and completeness.

  • Participate in customer business reviews.

  • Present data and analysis for review in person or via phone, answer questions and support sales initiatives around new customer engagement, optimization, and business reviews.

  • Coordinate in planning and strategy sessions, as well as customer debrief.

  • Develop ideas and tools to improve the usability of Sysco's internal data sources.

  • Work cross-functionally to automate or improve existing processes to streamline accuracy and performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or other quantitative field required.

  • Master's degree or MBA preferred.

Experience

  • 4+ years of progressive quantitative analytics experience required.

  • Distribution or foodservice experience a plus.

  • Quantitative problem solver.

  • Analytical thinker who can conclude from multiple data sources.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Polished presentation skills in front of an executive audience.

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g. formulas, pivot tables, data connections, macros, and automation).

  • Intermediate Powerpoint skills (e.g., ability to create and manipulate decks, add charts and other visuals).

  • Proficiency in database access and reporting.

  • Experience in SQL, Tableau, 1010Data, SAS, R or other relevant data mining software preferred.
