JOB SUMMARY

Sysco Specialty Meat Group (SSMG) , a division of Sysco, is dynamic, organization supporting restaurants and other businesses with high quality, custom cut meat, seafood and poultry items. This position supports an operating location, it’s leaders team, sales, finance and operations associates.

The HR Business Partner is a member of the location President’s key staff, and a trusted advisor to the leadership team and to associates. This role is responsible for all HR initiatives ( to include local, Area and Corporate) within the operation with emphasis on staffing, building talent bench and proactive employee relations. As well as union and labor relations activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures optimal staffing to effectuate production efficiencies.

  • Provides functional technical insights to maintain position, proactive employee relations, risk mitigation and low turnover.

  • Executes core HR processes (e.g. performance management, talent management, total rewards, compensation, training and development, interactive process of transitional return to work, etc.)

  • Provides coaching and guidance to leaders and associates regarding HR in areas such as policy and procedure

  • Drives an inclusive and diverse culture

  • Proactive employee relations and labor relations (investigations, conflict resolution)

  • Support in reviewing, interpreting, administering and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, and company policies and procedures

  • Determines training needs and developing programs to improve performance and professional development.

  • Manager union and labor relations activities.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Org Development, Business or related areas

Experience

  • 8 years of experience in Human Resources management

  • Union, labor relations and proactive associate relations activities

  • Experience working in blue collar operating environments such as production, manufacturing, distribution businesses

  • Three years of which have been supporting & influencing business leaders

  • Experience working with attorneys, COE’s, senior leadership & hands-on operations
