Job Responsibilities

Synaptics is currently seeking a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer with a strong background in small footprint embedded firmware development for our touch and display products. We need an experienced person that can pick up new knowledge quickly. A strong knowledge of C programing is required. The ideal candidate needs to have experience with low-level firmware programming and should have experience working with different processors and peripherals. The candidate must have good communication skills and must be able to work in collaborative environment. Experience with scripting languages, Makefiles, and customer support, is desirable.

Required Qualifications

B.S./M.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field

Minimum 3 years of extensive real-time embedded software/firmware experience

5+ years of software development experience

Strong knowledge of C and Assembly programming

Python and matlab programming is optional

Good knowledge in signal processing fundamentals

Experience working with generic RISC processors

Experience with analog and digital systems

Experience with I2C, I3C, SPI and USB communication

Experience with touch processing is a plus

Experience with MIPI, DCS protocols is a plus

Experience with scripting languages, Makefiles, and customer support, is desirable

Experience leading platform development with cross-functional collaboration

Willing to travel to other design centers when needed (~5%)

Candidate must be highly motivated and have strong written and verbal communication skills
