Display Architect

The IC Design team is searching for a hands-on, team oriented, analog and mixed-signal circuit architect. In this role, the architect will be responsible for the circuit architecture trade-off analysis for innovative display driving and touch sensing technologies. We are looking for a self-motivated and experienced architect to work closely with our marketing team as well as design engineers. This will involve interaction with all many different departments and customers to ensure that the circuit architecture designed represent the optimum balance of power, size, cost and accuracy.

Responsibilities include:

  • Define and specify architectures for the display driver and touch controller markets
  • Interface with design engineers to help successfully bring new circuits from initial concept through release to production
  • Carrying out detailed analog and mixed-signal circuit analysis using both hand analysis and computer simulation at both the transistor level and the behavior level
  • Schedule tasks and goals to complete architecture specification and simulation on time that meets the product requirements
  • Produce or contribute to architecture documentation
  • Travel is required as part of this role

Required Qualifications

Successful candidate should have an excellent knowledge of analog electronics and have good interpersonal skills. The person should be able to demonstrate a track record of initiative and innovation in their previous experience.  The successful candidate will be highly motivated, quick to understand new technologies, and provide innovating architecture solutions. Exceptional interpersonal, time management and communication skills are critical for working with design engineering, marketing groups, and customers. Candidate must have the ability to multi-task, thus ensuring timely completion of several complex independent tasks. The candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  • MS or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with 10 or more years’ experience in designing analog and mixed signal IC.
  • Experience in Specification / Architecture / Floorplan development
  • Experience in using Cadence IC design environment
  • Working knowledge of Verilog, Verilog-A, Verilog-AMS, and Matlab
  • Experience with Analog Mixed-Signal (AMS) tools such as Cadence AMS-Designer and experienced with Mixed mode simulation and modeling
  • Experience in designing ADC, DAC, high-speed serial interface, and AFE channels in communication circuits
  • Experience in hand analysis of key circuit parameters such as noise, bandwidth, gain, and jitter
  • Experience in behavior modeling and mixed-signal simulation
  • Understand COG (Chip on Glass), and COF (Chip on Film) environment
  • Must have excellent communication skills in English
