Job Scope:

Synaptics is seeking an ASIC design architect with a focus on video/audio and multimedia SoC development. The candidate will have the opportunity to join one of the fastest growing R&D groups developing Smart Edge SoCs for ultra high-definition consumer entertainment systems. The candidate will also be working closely with silicon, algorithm, software, verification and systems teams on a variety of advanced video encoding/decoding, video processing, machine learning, CPU, GPU, security, peripherals and DDR technologies



Responsibilities:

  • Engage with customer, marketing and IP vendors on product/application requirement and design specifications
  • Define optimal PPA (power/performance/area) SoC architecture and implementation
  • Formulate micro-architecture and design specification for audio/video processing IPs and implementation
  • Conduct system performance analysis and optimizationī€ 
  • RTL design implementation and verification


Qualifications:
  • BSc or MSc Degree in EE/EECS/CS or equivalent
  • 8+ years industry background and relevant experience
  • Solid background and in-depth knowledge in signal/video processing algorithm
  • In-depth knowledge of SoC architecture and video IP design
  • Proficiency in Verilog/VHDL coding skill
  • Knowledge of programming language: C/C++, .NET, Perl script
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills
