Social Media Intern

Role Description

Reporting to the Social Media Team, the Social Media Intern’s primary duties will be to gather timely content related to past and present conference speakers, festivals, and exhibitions, research current media trends, assist in developing ideas for video content, and help maintain all social media channels managed by SXSW, LLC. The intern will help craft social media copy, source photos, edit video clips for sharing, track analytics, and assist in scheduling/monitoring all platforms pre-event/during event. During the event the intern will also be tasked with coordinating with staff for capturing live content.

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google AppsImage editing experience with tools such as Adobe Photoshop & IllustratorVideo editing experience with tools such as QuicktimeFamiliarity with social media platforms, specifically Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, SnapchatInterest in the creative industryExperience writing and editing contentMeticulous attention to detailWork well within a teamFast learner, able to learn new platforms quicklySuperb written and oral communication skills requiredBe agile in a demanding environmentHighly organizedPreferred, but not required: Hootsuite, WordPress, HTMLA self-starter who can multitask and solve problems quickly and accuratelyAvailability

This position beings immediately upon acceptance and runs through Friday, April 7, 2017, requires 20 hours per week, and longer commitment from March 10-19. There will be longer hours leading up to the event, including at least two Saturday meetings.
