Outdoor Stage Production Intern

Role Description

The SXSW Production Department is seeking a production intern to assist with event production, planning and execution at the SXSW Outdoor Stage at Lady Bird Lake. This will include venue walkthroughs, vendor acquisition, production advancement and onsite production coordination. This is a great opportunity to learn the basics of festival production management from inception to execution and completion.

Responsibilities for this position include

What you will learn:

● How to advance with, procure, and manage a multitude of production vendors

● How to advance with city entities

● How to create production schedules and site plans

● How to work with a site team on a large outdoor music festival production

Candidates should:

● Work well in a team setting

● Have the capacity to stay organized and handle tasks in a timely manner

● Possess an exceptional work ethic, professionalism and great attitude

● Be capable of remaining calm, collected and patient in high stress situations

● Have the ability to work under pressure in a constantly changing environment

● Possess the ability to multi-task onsite, handling multiple events and logistics

● Be able to lift 50 pounds

● Have working knowledge of Gmail, Google Calendar and Docs, and Mac computers

This position runs January 2017 – April 2017 with a time commitment of 10-20 hours a week. Full-time availability between March 13-19, 2017 is required.
