Sr. School Partnership Executive, Houston TX

About Swing:

On average, U.S. students are with substitute teachers for 5% of the typical school year. That means our students have substitute teachers for more than six months of their K-12 school career. The problem? We're suffering from a national shortage of substitute teachers.

Swing Education is focused on tackling the substitute teacher shortage. We make it easy for great schools and quality subs to find each other. We help schools access more subs and offload tedious work (recruiting, screening, payroll, etc.) and we help subs find jobs, gain experience and build their professional network.

Swing is a revenue-generating, Series B, YC company (through ImagineK12).

The Position:

As the Texas Senior School Partnership Executive, you will own the entire school sales funnel and processes in Texas.

Your extensive K-12 education sales experience will be valuable for opening a new market for Swing Education. The goals are aggressive so your existing network will help you to close business within the first 60 days in the territory. Your primary role will be to generate leads that become appointments with school districts and charter schools, then present the Swing solution in such a compelling manner that the prospect becomes a customer that issues requests for Swing Subs. Your experience working with state, school district and charter leadership will guide the processes such as presenting at cabinet, publicly meeting with the board, confirming state policies, and/or RFP management. Your understanding of the state education landscape will assist with the selection of consultants to accelerate the sales process. Your understanding of how to forecast will be essential in this unique marketplace because of the need to match school needs with available substitutes. You will be tasked with developing and executing plans to meet aggressive sales goals.

In addition, as one of the first hires on the Texas Team, you will be helping to create the culture of Swing in Texas from the ground up. You will use your experience in sales and marketing or education along with your learnings from the sales frontlines to help drive the strategic direction of the team. You will be communicating regularly with the compliance team about updates to education code.
