Sr. Installer

Overview

 

The Sr. Installer position is a contributing member of branch operations. The Sr. Installer is responsible for working as a team with the Foreman and Lead Installer to perform installations for residential solar projects. The Sr. Installer is also responsible for gathering pertinent information needed for the design and installation of solar projects by completing site surveys prior to installation.

Responsibilities

  • Installation of the mechanical systems of ground or roof mounted solar system. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Assembling the racking solar array
    • Assembling the equipment along with sealing all roof penetrations
    • Trenching, concrete work and equipment assembly
    • Project clean up including client site and installation vehicle
    • Occasionally perform basic roof repairs and upgrades
  • Perform site surveys on sold systems when applicable. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Taking measurements, photographs, notes and shading measurements of the project sites
    • Assisting with scheduling, preparing (completing pre-inspection QA/QC checklist), and completing site inspections
    • Meeting with customers to discuss project details in order to accommodate their needs
    • Documenting site conditions for construction teams
    • Utilizing software systems to record progress of various tasks
    • Support branch administration team as it pertains to site survey documentation

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, certifications, and other requirements including physical demands and role specific requirements)

 

  • Previous field construction experience preferred
  • Ability to drive a vehicle during the normal course of business. Must maintain a clean driving record with the ability to pass a driving background check. Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license
  • Have a strong work ethic, high level of workmanship with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Professional appearance and customer interaction
  • Excellent verbal communication, written communication and documentation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to follow instructions, learn quickly, and know when to ask questions

  • Demonstrates a commitment to working safely and the proper use of PPE
  • Proficiency with office equipment including computers
  • Ability to complete and pass a 2 week site survey training certification



PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to transport materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks (up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance)
  • Ability to work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces which requires frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, turning, standing, and balance
  • Ability to work in confined spaces which requires kneeling, crouching and climbing ladders
  • Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including but not limited to: excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet environment, and humidity
  • Ability to frequently utilize hand functions requiring fine motor skills including but not limited to: fine manipulation, grasping, and pinching
  • Ability to frequently utilize gross motor skills including but not limited to: pushing, pulling, and reaching
