Sterilization Site Leader

Senior Director, Sterilization Services
Position Summary:
The Sterilization plant leader is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the sterilization facility. They source, recruit and oversee a team of employees, ensuring all safety and regulatory standards are adhered too and in place. They manage all supply through the plant, from validation and test runs through to production runs. They manage production and validation schedules to ensure safe and effective ramp up and day to day operations of the site. They will collaborate with appropriate teams to create support structures and systems that ensure the highest level of Safety , Quality and Culture that enable that we drive supply chain resiliency to support continued uninterrupted product supply while also supporting future business growth.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: (Detailed Description)
Team Leadership
- Sources, Hires and Creates a team of sterilization professionals, supervisors, operators and appropriate technical support to run the plant in a safe, effective and efficient manner
- Manages, mentors and develops the teams in order to ensure that culture aligned to Stryker's mission and values are realized
- Creates and manages appropriate guidance, training and performance criteria for the operators and site that is aligned to Stryker's goals
- Fosters a culture of safety, quality and accountability within the plant, from start up through operations
Safety and Environmental Compliance
- Ensures that all plant, equipment and buildings are following all appropriate safety regulations to drive a zero incident culture
- Oversees, implements and executes appropriate processes and procedures to ensure employee safety is a number priority
- Engages with appropriate teams to ensure all employees are appropriately qualified and trained to operate in this facility
- Working with the EHS organization and other relevant teams, works to create a continuous safety monitoring program that drives a zero incident culture.
- Ensure that all environmental regulations are adhered too and in practice through the construction of the sterilization site and are implemented accordingly.
- Manages and ensures that all appropriate environmental regulations are in place during the commissioning, validation and operation of this site
- Develops and implements protocols for handling sterilization-related emergencies or equipment failures
- Drives daily operations with a zero incident culture
Sterilization Operations and supply
- Creates, supports and executes all pre-operations sterilization validation and qualification activities to ensure plant is operational in alignment with overall business strategy
- Ensures all people, methods and materials are in place to support operational activities
- Collaborates and supports active use and adherence of site QMS, acting as lead for all Audits (internal and external)
- Creates and implements Sterilization processes and procedures that support the reduction of ETO use
- Manages and leads all activities related to sterilization processes within the facility
- Acts as plant manager collaborating with all functions locally and within the Stryker network
- Leads and owns the P&L for the site and ensures appropriate Financial acumen is practice align to Stryker best practices
- Collaborates with appropriate functions to create operational metrics that align to the overall business plan for the site
Education & Special Trainings:
- Bachelor's degree (Microbiology/Sterilization related discipline, or related field), MBA or Masters in related field preferred)
- 10+ years of experience as a successful Sterilization/MFG/Quality/Business professional with 8+ years as a successful leader preferably in the Medical Device sector
- Demonstrated experience with strategic planning and implementing programs to ensure strong governance, resource alignment to key priorities, and performance monitoring
- Demonstrated experience leading process standardization and continuous improvement in complex, matrix organization. Willingness to enforce standardized processes and refine them when provided feedback
- Experience implementing transformational changes and processes in a complex organization

- Knowledgeable about Sterilization, Regulations and E2E supply chain
- Viewed as source of truth for reporting, processes, and other questions by Stryker for Sterilization related questions
- Project management experience required; certification preferred
