This exciting new role in the Stryker organization will drive continuous improvement through the end to end supply chain for the MAKO Robotic Assisted Arm and supporting products, while also strengthening the culture of continuous improvement within the organization. In this individual contributor role, the suitable candidate will report directly to the Manager, Engineering and will be a member of the Site Leadership team.
Responsibilities will include:
- Working as part of the Site Operations Leadership team, develops multi-year Continuous Improvement strategies for the Stryker MAKO business.
- Identifies high-value opportunities to drive efficiencies onsite, reducing overall cost while ensuring the highest quality standards are met.
- Deploy the Stryker Manufacturing Excellence framework
- Identifies high-value opportunities to drive efficiencies through the end to end supply chain, including transportation, logistics, vendors, partners and Stryker Distribution Centre.
- Leads and drives continuous improvement initiatives across the Stryker MAKO Robotics Innovations Centre in Weston, Florida
- Develops a culture of continuous improvement onsite and partners with the wider Stryker C.I. network to implement best practices.
- Maximizes efficiency by reducing/eliminating waste through providing detailed Value Stream Maps and leading Kaizen Events
- Trains teams of industrial, manufacturing, and continuous improvement engineers on lean concepts such as 6S, product flow, SMED, visual management, poka-yoke, Kanban, heijunka, statistical process control, PFMEA, 5 Why, and Toyota Production System
- Initiates, facilitates, and leads problem solving teams to establish root cause and corrective actions utilizing 6 sigma, Kaizen and other formal techniques
- Provides technical support for manufacturing to resolve quality and productivity issues by standardizing production system tools and methods
- Partners with the site Projects Leader to organize, execute and monitor the outcome of projects to ensure the meet and exceed our commitments.
- In partnership with site Project Management team leader, tracks lean projects from ideation to closure, reporting on results to program and functional leadership.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- 6 or more years of engineering and lean manufacturing experience; OR a Master's Degree in Engineering with 5 or more years of engineering and lean manufacturing experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Production System deployment experience
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry
- Experience using ERP systems (Oracle preferred) and/or Power BI
- Lean/Six Sigma certification
- Project Management certification
