What you will do:
Technical Responsibilities:
- This role is a Senior Design Engineer - Electrical Engineering for Product Engineering. You will be responsible for sustaining a large portfolio of products within the Endoscopy Business Unit.
- You will perform a wide variety of technical work related to design changes due to supply issues, quality improvements, cost reductions, and more.
- Analyze and correct complex product or process design issues.
- Execute changes to design of electrical components, sub-systems, and/or systems for medical devices
- Ensure changes to designs meet existing inputs/ specifications.
- Engage with vendors who supply components and subsystems.
- Identify and execute testing to ensure designs meet existing inputs/specifications.
- Demonstrate proficiency with the product's intended use and clinical procedures.
Med Device Compliance:
- Follow fundamental industry standards, design requirements and test strategies which apply to regulatory requirements.
- Independently create or refine engineering documentation, such as the Design History file.
- Follow R&D procedure like design controls and risk management, per the Quality Management System.
General Responsibilities:
- Work cooperatively with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing and Project Management to ensure project success as a key member of the team, collaborating with others and solidifying relationships.
- Quickly process and assimilate procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technology required.
- Work on complex problems, applying advanced experience and learnings.
- Demonstrate ownership and prioritize work with minimal supervision.
- Build relationships and influence among peers.
What You Need
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related discipline
- 2+ years of work experience
- Working knowledge of the electrical design process, electrical components, Schematics/PCB Design, and manufacturing methods.
- Ability to interpret, analyze, and test electrical designs.
- Ability to apply analysis tools and statistical methods.
- Knowledge of system components and associated requirements.
- Understanding of the system lifecycle and effects of design choices on the system.
Preferred Qualifications (Strongly desired):
- Experience with designing products in an FDA or other regulated industry is highly preferred.
- Experience with high-speed video signals and standards such as HDMI, 3G-SDI
- Experience using electronic hardware lab tools for testing of design (e.g. Oscilloscope, Electronic Loads, Analyzer, Environmental Chambers).
