We are looking for self-motivated, innovative, and ambitious computer vision engineers to become part of our Trauma and Extremities Enabling Technologies R&D team. You will develop state-of-the-art algorithms for analyzing 2D intraoperative x-ray images and will apply the algorithms in cross functional teams to deliver products.
This position offers a fascinating opportunity to develop state-of-the art computer vision algorithms, to improve Trauma care and to learn and grow on the way.
Key responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for the development of machine learning algorithms to detect and segment objects in intraoperative x-ray images.
- You develop algorithms for reconstructing accurate 3D information from 2D images and integrate the developed algorithms into product software.
- You strategize and coordinate the gathering of training and test data for the implemented algorithms, while also devising and implementing methods for automated testing of these algorithms.
- You will participate in labs, demos and meetings with surgeons to analyze customer needs and understand clinical procedures and design inputs.
What are we looking for:
- You have successfully completed your studies in the field of computer science, software engineering, mathematics, electrical engineering or comparable.
- Ideally, you have 2+ years of experience in software development using languages such as C#, C++, Python, or Java.
- You have a solid understanding of 3D geometry, 3D transformations and operations on 3D objects.
- Good understanding of camera calibration and perspective projection would be a plus.
- You are capable of leading and driving forward technically demanding projects and have the flexibility and communication skills to operate effectively in a high caliber international team.
- A very good command of English and ideally good written and spoken German round off your profile.

Thanks to our flexible working hours model, you will have the opportunity to work partially from the home office. A regular presence on site at our location in Freiburg should always be given to build sustainable relationships and maintain personal contact with colleagues as well as the departments.
