What you will do

The Lead Financial Analyst for the MedSurg and Neurotechnology Group (MSNT) will have the opportunity to work across the FP&A organization and gain an understanding of the commercial divisions that make up MSNT. The analyst will support the organization by providing in-depth analysis of key performance indicators and by significantly contributing to the forecasting, budgeting, monthly close, and long-range financial plan processes. Deliverables within this role are time sensitive and execution of this function occurs in a fast-paced environment requiring strong communication and organizational skills. Attention to detail and a strong level of accounting knowledge are also required.

  • Own key elements of FP&A close process, provide analysis and communicate results to Group Leadership.
  • Support developing high-quality, in-depth narratives of significant variances to prior year, budget and forecast while highlighting key trends and significant drivers.
  • Serve as a resource to divisional contacts, clearly communicating deliverable requirements and coordinating to ensure received items are complete and follow up questions answered as needed
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process changes to generate new insights or create efficiencies in reporting
  • Perform ad hoc analysis as requested in support of decision-making and strategy
  • Complete Group quarter and year end reporting packages along with other required period end reporting.
  • Support the Long-Range Financial Plan (LRFP) as part of annual Strategic Plan process for the MSNT Group.
  • Support Group bonus administration
  • Maintain financial controls within MSNT HQ to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and Corporate Policies.
  • Review Group financial statements and own the issuance of comprehensive monthly Group financial packet and Executive Summary.

What you need

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) and relevant work experience in related field required.
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office tools, strong accounting knowledge, understanding of GAAP and SOX preferred.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of Finance/Accounting experience.
  • Experience with financial system (Hyperion and BPC) preferred.

This position requires you to travel to one of the main Stryker Locations for important meetings (about once a month/quarter) and allows you to work from home for the rest of the time.
