What You Will Do

The Solution Architect will be responsible for governing architectural designs for integrated systems within and across ERP Platforms. In this role the Solution Architect will partner with Business Analysts and Technical Analysts to understand the overall business need, define overarching operational requirements and govern high-level architectural specifications, ensuring feasibility, functionality, and integration with existing systems/platforms and participate in an overarching architectural design and model that will support Stryker's business and support needs. The Solution Architect is responsible for verifying the detailed technical documents, validating the configuration within the assigned applications, and ensuring solutions are delivered based on the supportability of the architected design.

Essential duties & responsibilities:

  • Ensure excellence in process execution across all operational processes (e.g., incident, problem, change, configuration, etc.) related to the service.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to mature operations and increase visibility into service performance.
  • Oversee license and user management activities and review usage levels to ensure continuous compliance with contractual agreements and efficient use of the service per funded usage levels.
  • Ensure monitoring of services and related aspects of the service offering (e.g., support procedures) is in place to proactively identify and remediate issues and achieve delivery of service excellence.
  • Solicit and monitor customer feedback and respond with actions that drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure documentation that is relevant to the service is maintained in a meaningful and accessible manner. This includes system documentation, requirements and test scripts, knowledge articles, and configuration and organizational information, emergency contacts / call lists, etc.
  • Ensure technical governance of the ERP portfolio.
  • Establish and monitor service KPIs. Publish metrics to IS leadership and service stakeholders.
  • Ensure platform is scalable and configured to meet growing customer numbers.
  • Advises on the available standards, methods, tools, and applications relevant to own area of service and can make appropriate choices from alternatives.
  • Analyzes requirements and advises on scope and options for continuous operational improvement. Demonstrates creativity and innovation in applying solutions for the benefit of the client/stakeholder.
  • Analyzes, designs, plans, executes and evaluates work to time, cost and quality targets.
  • Maintain awareness of pending and active projects that may or will impact the business application and stability of system or services.
  • Push for quick adoption of project execution strategies that produce highly maintainable services with low TCO.
  • Minimize build-to-run transition by scrutinizing changes very carefully, opting to keep systems stable instead.
  • Ensure a smooth transition into operations and ensure this is documented.

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in the areas of Computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent field of study required.
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience required
  • Experience in leading resources for projects, minimum 5 years
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of the Oracle EBS architecture and major modules (configuration, processes, integration including add-on products) as well as the current/future Oracle EBS product portfolio strategy
  • Experience and demonstrated understanding of global system rollouts - strategy, planning, vendor selection and implementation planning
  • Knowledge of and ability to drive IS methodologies such as ITIL, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile Development is preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of medical devices and/or pharmaceutical industry and basic knowledge of adjacent areas in terms of processes, organization, products and IS requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to work cohesively across a cross functional and matrixed organization
  • Experience with process mapping, documenting complex processes and presenting them in a clear and understandable format is required.
  • Experience understanding, evaluating, and recommending changes to business processes are required.
  • Experience developing strategic business process methodologies to drive business results
