The position of Analytical Chemist intern is responsible for performing advanced analytical analysis of raw materials, in-process solutions, stability, finished goods, cleaning samples, as well as general laboratory support. Additionally, responsibilities outside the laboratory include Phase I, II, and laboratory related investigations and complex data reviews. • Supports routine and non-routine analysis for raw materials, in-process solutions, stability, and finished goods including, but not limited to identification testing, refractive index, density, viscosity, water activity, pH, appearance, taste, and smell testing. Additionally, perform more advanced testing such as limits tests, titration, water determination, assay, and impurities testing, as needed. • Supports pharmaceutical water testing including but not limited to nitrate testing, total organic carbon (TOC), and conductivity, as needed. • Responsible for analytical analysis of cleaning validation and surveillance samples. • Prepare solutions used for routine and non-routine analysis, such as buffers and diluents. • Executes complex Phase I, II, and nonconformances for laboratory related investigations. • Responsible for conducting complex data review generated from routine and non-routine testing. • Responsible for execution of method and equipment validation protocols. • Manages sample coordination prior to and following testing activities. • Responsible for ordering and stocking supplies. • Performs laboratory maintenance activities including but not limited to equipment preventative maintenance, calibration, disposal of waste, and cleaning laboratory areas. • Performs other activities as needed. • Drafts and maintains SOPs and WIs to establish guidance and consistency within the lab, as needed.
