Who You Are:

We are looking for an HR Specialist to join our team and monitor all Human Resources functions. You are a positive, team-player that enjoys rolling up your sleeves and becoming involved in all aspects of HR. You have exceptional interpersonal skills, impeccable attention to detail, and you take delight in making process improvements. You will report directly to the Senior Manager of People and roll into our Finance and People department.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and implement HR policies throughout the organization
  • Maintain personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements
  • Total ownership of semimonthly payroll preparation, including being the main point of contact for employee questions about salaries and/or payroll taxes
  • Conduct regular audits on payroll procedures and records
  • Design, document and implement procedures to streamline payroll processes
  • Stay up-to-date on state and federal payroll and tax laws
  • Reconcile monthly deduction (FSA, DCA, Transit, etc.) activity between payroll withholdings and employee usage
  • Reconcile monthly insurance premiums between carriers and company records
  • Reconcile monthly COBRA activity between insurance carriers, COBRA administrator and company records
  • Coordinate health, life and disability insurance enrollments and communicate with service providers concerning routine administration of programs
  • Take initiative to research questions and interpret policies where clear-cut procedures do not exist
  • Facilitate process improvements relating to employee relations, recruitment, benefits, new hire orientation, employee on-boarding, policies and procedures, exit process, performance management, and administrative maintenance
  • Assist in miscellaneous People and culture-related projects

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in the HR field, preferably within a fast-paced startup environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Service-oriented mindset
  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy in work
  • Unwavering commitment to maintaining confidentiality in all matters
  • Passion for continuous improvement
  • Proven ability to drive results in an ambiguous and ever-changing environment
  • Familiar with employment and compliance laws
  • Strong social skills and demonstrated success working with all levels in an organization
  • Experience managing an HRIS (currently using Zenefits)
