Your Opportunity

Do you enjoy working with clients to design

solutions for community water challenges? Stantec's

Water Business Line is seeking a Water Treatment Design Lead, to be based in

our Salt Lake City, Utah office. As an integral part of the Water team, you can

use your technical leadership to design creative solutions for new facilities

and facility upgrades, enabling our clients to improve and expand critical

infrastructure in Salt Lake City

YourKey Responsibilities

  • Design and construction services forwater supply and water treatment projects
  • Interdisciplinary designcoordination including working with remote teams across multiple geographiesaround the globe
  • Perform engineering analyses,modeling, and calculations and prepare complex detailed design drawings,reports and specifications.
  • Technical review of design packagesincluding development of project standard design details and technicalspecifications.
  • Serve as the Engineer of Record
  • Provide technical support to theClient Service Manager in support of business development and project deliveryschemes
  • Createand leverage relationships across Stantec, to communicate and deliverinnovative solutions to clients' needs
  • Actively mentor peers and developingprofessionals on career development objectives
  • Engage in professional associations(delivering papers, presentations, workshops & seminars) including theAmerican Water Works Association (AWWA) AWWA Ace and local waterworks affiliateswithin the Utah region

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Proficiencyfor Technical Leadership and Interdisciplinary design coordination
  • Fulfilledmultiple roles on design projects, such as process engineer, project engineer,project technical lead and/or design coordinator
  • Deep understandingof industry standards and manuals, as well as client and regulatory agencystandards and requirements
  • Expertisein two or more of the following areas:
  • Conventional surface water treatment processesincluding flocculation and sedimentation, media filtration, and disinfection
  • Groundwater treatment processes
  • Residuals handling processes
  • Advanced water treatment processes including low- andhigh-pressure membrane filtration, high rate settling, ballastedflocculation, sorption, taste and odor control, disinfection, andoxidation
  • Water treatment plant and/or water system masterplanning
  • Water chemistry and process modeling for applicationssuch as water stabilization, corrosion control, and disinfectionbyproducts formation
  • Chemical storage and feed and pumping systems
  • Proficiencyin design software which can include AutoCAD, Civil3D, Bentley MicroStation,GIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, StormCAD, WaterCAD, InfoWater, and AFT Fathom (or otherconveyance system hydraulic modeling software)
  • Establishedreputation as a technical leader through publication of technical papers andpresentation at conferences

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g. environmental, civil, mechanical, bioengineering) or equivalent is required.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer with valid Utah Professional Engineering license, or ability to obtain one within 1 year of employment, is required.
  • 10 years' experience with a Min of 5 in a consulting environment on wastewater design projects

Typical

office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long

periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including

inclement weather. Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs.

Willingness to travel for project work and business development opportunities
