Transportation Planning Engineer

Join our team and help us keep communities connected. Your Opportunity The Transportation group in Edmonton Stantec's office is seeking an Intermediate Transportation Engineer. If you are passionate about innovative multimodal transportation solutions, this position is for you. Your Key Responsibilities This opportunity is for an intermediate position in our Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering group. The position may involve the following:

  • Short and long-term transportation concept planning and design
  • Complete streets planning and design
  • Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams on planning and design exercises
  • Conducting and assisting with traffic analysis using various software platforms (Synchro, SIDRA, VISSIM, etc.)
  • Other technical assignments including data analysis and functional planning studies
  • Writing and editing technical reports and engineering studies
  • Building and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients

Education and Experience
  • Completion of a four (4) year college level academic program in Civil Engineering with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Registration as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer
  • 5 years professional work experience in transportation engineering
  • Experience with traffic analysis software
  • Traffic modelling experience using EMME, VISUM or related software an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Master's Degree in Transportation Engineering or Planning is an asset
Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.
