Your Duties Reporting to the IT Facilities Manager, the Storage Administrator will be responsible for:

  • Day to day management of NetBackup and/or CommVault backup solutions with strong preference for CommVault experience;
  • Adhering to established procedures perform daily monitoring, reporting and maintenance tasks associated with corporate and regional backups;
  • Respond to and resolve retrieval and storage issues as associated with backups;
  • Collaborate with outside regional IT team members on regional backup issues and requirements;
  • Adhere to established procedures for change management, problem management and incident management;
  • Data center move / add / change activities on compute / storage / network hardware;
  • Data center maintenance activities;
  • Data center cable management;
  • Data center shipping and receiving; and
  • Hardware maintenance activities under the direction of partner IT teams and vendors.


Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, electrical engineering or a related discipline and/or 5+ years equivalent work experience;
  • Experience with either NetBackup and/or CommVault backup solutions with strong preference for CommVault;
  • Experience working in data center environments;
  • Maintenance experience working with servers (HP / Dell), network (Juniper) and storage devices;
  • Capable of performing network cabling activities;
  • Be comfortable working in multiple locations within the city (multiple data centers);
  • Experience working directly with vendors (data center / HW vendors / media);
  • Windows, Linux, Network, VMware/Hyper-V working knowledge;
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, geographically dispersed team;
  • Flexible with changing priorities;
  • Can deal with occasional heavy physical activities; and
  • Work independently once direction is given.
Please note that this position will require some after-hours and on-call work (rotation). Once a month Service maintenance day (SMD) activities (typically on weekends)
