Senior Structural Engineer (mirco-tunneling)

Stantec is currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for a Flood Protection Scheme Project in Qatar.

The scope of the project includes design review, project management, and site supervision of urgent flooding mitigation works at two residential communities in Doha, Qatar, spanning 600 and 650 ha.

A. Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Civil engineering from an accredited University with Professional

Qualifications from a recognized International Institution and with a professional career

development record all as approved by the Engineer.
  1. Chartered Engineer in the United Kingdom or any other recognized Professional Institution, all to the approval of the Engineer is highly desirable.

B. Experience
  1. Minimum 15 years demonstrable experience of which minimum 7 years shall be with large construction projects associated with surface & ground water networks with multi engineering disciplines project coordination, check plans and specifications for

accuracy of design and completeness for construction.
  1. Review, recommend and coordination with external & internal stake holders pertinent to structural works & design.
  2. Review, comment, recommend acceptance or otherwise on contractors' and

consultants' submissions regarding Civil works such as temporary side support,

Network manhole structures , RC Jacking Pipes, etc.
  1. Liaise with utilities providers and stake holders.
  2. Performance of actual design duties and other related duties when directed.
  3. Full awareness with design standards and Authority Design Manual.

C. General
  1. Must be fluent in English both written and spoken with an excellent capability in written

technical skills as well as oral and written communication skills;
  1. Ability to use design software (structural Analysis and design) is compulsory.
  2. Computer skills are mandatory.
