Senior Staff Accountant - Project and Internal Reporting

MWH Constructors (MWHC) is currently looking to add a Senior Accountant to support company operations from our Broomfield, CO corporate headquarters.

This position will have the following responsibilities:
• Support initial implementation plus ongoing review and reconciliation of project cost related documentation in accordance with SOX 404 compliance standards,

• Perform and review general ledger account reconciliations, including project and joint venture related balances and reviews and reconciliations in accordance with SOX 404 compliance standards

• Support the month end close and monthly reporting process, including joint venture accounting. This includes journal entries, account analysis, and bringing forth proactive ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the process.

• Prepare and analyze and report on key financial results and performance indicators for global organization

• Support annual and interim financial statement audit requests, including project audit support and project SOX related compliance.

• Support various project cost and rate analytics

• Assist with preparation of various project and management reporting packages

• Prepare and review Joint Venture and/or International project accounting entries, account reconciliations and financial statements.

• Assist with ensuring general ledger activities have proper internal controls and procedures.

• Utilize accounting systems to support variety of business / reporting needs.

• Additional special projects as it relates to controls or system implementations or business process reviews.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting
• Minimum of 4-6 years of general accounting experience, particularly accounting period close and consolidation, multi-currency, as Joint Venture Accounting, etc. Relevant industry and/or recent audit/SOX experience could substitute for 1-2 years of the required experience.
• Accounting experience with a global/international company
• Effective time management skills and the ability to multitask
• Ability to work both as part of a team, and to analyze and take action independently
• Proactive problem solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other normal business applications, knowledge of pivot tables and advanced excel functionality preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
