Your Duties: We are currently looking for an Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer to be based out of our Tampa , FL office. The successful candidate will p erform complex engineering work and lead projects requiring intensive and diversified knowledge of the principles and practices of the Instrumentation and Control engineering discipline.

Duties include:

  • Leads discipline project teams and provides supervision to other discipline engineers
  • Provides backup to discipline manager and assists with the planning of work in the department.
  • Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of knowledge base.
  • Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Devises new approaches to problems encountered.
  • Makes decisions independently
  • Coaches and mentors other engineers
  • Assists in business development activities

Your Capabilities and Credentials:
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in detailed power plant engineering and design
  • Professional Registration a plus.
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of Industry standards and I&C Engineering design principles
  • Experience with power plant control systems including plant Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Control (PLC) systems
  • Detailed understanding of boiler, HRSG, steam turbine and Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment process control strategies.
  • Thorough knowledge of and ability to:
    • Develop instrumentation and control equipment specifications
    • Develop instrumentation and control equipment specifications
    • Develop control system architecture drawings
    • Develop system P&ID drawings
    • Develop SAMA logic diagrams
    • Develop graphic display drawings
    • Develop instrumentation loop and interconnecting wiring diagrams
    • Develop instrumentation database
    • Perform control valve and flowmeter sizing calculations
  • Work closely with designers to develop construction documents
  • Willingness and ability to work in the field at project jobsites to gather design data, respond to construction questions and assist with checkout and commissioning.
  • Plan and schedule own work
  • Work within an interdisciplinary project team
