Key to our future is growing our water sector team and we are currently looking for a Project Technical Lead to work in a virtual blended team alongside our client and partner's staff. The Project Technical Lead will lead a design team in developing the conceptual design of several major new potable water pipelines as part of the major capital work programme. The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team taking a diverse range of potable pipeline projects through feasibility and optioneering to arrive at a preferred solution for Thames Water. This will involve leading a blended team of technical experts and you will need to use your knowledge and experience to lead the team and deliver effective solutions while working with wider internal and external stakeholders for our client.

About you

To be considered for this role, you must be a qualified Engineer (any of Civil, Mechanical, Electrical/ICA, Process) and you must have an experienced level of leadership to set the direction for a multidisciplinary team or project and liaise with wider stakeholders inside and outside of Southern Water. You will ideally be Chartered or a member of a relevant engineering institution according to your discipline, e.g. ICE or IMechE, etc, and you will have a track record in leading projects through feasibility and optioneering to outline design.

The opening allows you to work on a major capital investment programme. You will be experienced in working closely with Project Managers to ensure our client's needs are met in delivering on-time, to budget and to a high standard. You will have the chance to build working relationships with our client and external stakeholders, both on and off site which will provide business development opportunities.
