Your Duties Stantec is seeking an Office Engineer, with 5+ years of experience, to join our Water Sector as part of our construction management team for the NYC DDC Project HWCRQ03L Requirements Contract for Large Infrastructure Projects within the NYC Metropolitan Area.

As an Office Engineer, you will utilize your construction experience and technical knowledge of municipal infrastructure, water and wastewater facilities and general building projects to successfully execute and manage projects, under the supervision of the Resident Engineer, and help us build and grow our practice.

The primary duties and responsibilities of the Office Engineer are to conduct reviews and monitor construction contractor compliance of all construction contract requirements and deliverables and is responsible for Project Administration and Document Control. Reporting directly to the assigned Stantec Field Resident Engineer, Office Engineer will review proposed project schedules, Contractor's payments and Change Order requests, and assist in the preparation of construction cost estimates. Performs routine assignments requiring application of spreadsheets, databases, and scheduling software for Stantec's NYC DDC Project HWCRQ03L.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • BS in Engineering or Construction Management, or a related degree
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience, preferably for NYC Agencies such as: NYCDDC, NYCDEP, NYCDOT, MTA and/or PANYNJ
  • Prior experience as a Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer in NYC or other large Metropolitan areas
  • Proficiency with Primavera and/or MS Project and the MS Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing a safe and healthful workplace
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Computerized Document Control Systems
