Mechanical Drafter - Junior

Your Duties:

  • Perform multiple drafting assignments requiring application of design drafting principles, theories, standards, concepts and techniques
  • Work with and assist higher level designers and engineers on a directed project-by-project basis
  • Write routine reports and correspondence
  • Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

Your Capabilities and Credentials:
  • A minimum of a high school degree
  • Proficient computer skills using AutoCAD, exposure to other current software design programs is a plus
  • Ability to determine basic engineering calculations related to routine drafting problems such as stress, sizing, support, and flexibility
  • Can demonstrate proper CAD techniques
  • Basic math knowledge (scale conversions, geometry, basic trig.)
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions, organize and prioritize work to meet scheduled deadlines
  • Experience drafting and basic knowledge of the following is a plus:
    • Drawing pipe (single & double line)
    • Isometrics
    • Drawing screwed and socket weld piping
    • Coordinate systems
    • Elevations and fitting dimension charts
    • Valve types
    • Importance of P&ID's
    • Layering standards
    • Labeling, dimensioning, and callout standards
    • Creating section cuts/drawings from designer's input
    • Inter-relationship of drawings
    • Make-up of typical drawing packages
