Your Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Materials Coordinator to join our Procurement team. The position will provide support at the client site as well as in the office.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate delivery and distribution of construction materials to various Contractors.
  • Facilitate, monitor and expedite bulk material releases.
  • Assist in implementing strategies to address and reduce the impact of unnecessary storage at Contractors site.</li> <li>Propose procedural recommendation to support the ongoing development of materials management activities.</li> <li>Outline fabrication priorities to Home Office Procurement and the Project team to support Fabrication/ construction requirements.</li> <li>Ensure Contractor create and maintain records in a timely manner for materials received and shipped to Site.</li> <li>Upon receipt of material, oversee complete final material receipt is performed into identified system/tool for the project.</li> <li>Ensure that MRR's are received from the Contractors in a timely fashion and forwarded to Home Office Procurement for processing.</li> <li>Ensure that materials shortages are addressed in a timely fashion as well as all OS&amp;D's, NCR's and RFI's are addressed.</li> <li>Collaborate regularly with Home Office Procurement (Purchasing and Expediting)</li> <li>Obtain Contractors materials status/shorts/inventory reports in a timely manner.
  • Assist Contractors QA/QC to perform Quality Control inspections on incoming materials through adherence to process, namely receiving and inspection.</li> <li>Obtain/review Contractors analysis of material reports and request corrective action ensuring resolution.
  • Meet regularly with Contractor's Materials Management representative to discuss and update 30, 60 & 90 day look ahead for materials, review reports output, agree on actions with appointed responsible and completion date.
  • Participate in regular progress review meetings with the Construction/Contractor Team and update the team on status of material issues.
  • Monitoring Contractors Logistics duties including transportation, loading, bracing, etc.</li> <li>Monitor Contractor's Warehousing duties including; unloading trucks, receiving, data input, reporting, shipping, storage, preservation and distribution of construction equipment and materials.</li> <li>Assess Contractor's compliance with Projects preservation and maintenance policies and procedures and report non-compliance to Contractor and the client project team.</li> <li>Reconcile the material at the end of the job and work with project team to finalize the preferred disposition option</li> <li>Work with the Contractor to ship surplus material.</li> <li>Review project construction schedules providing input for Contractors material management/logistics plan.
  • Manage Site Project Close-Out Process related to Materials Management as per project requirements.
  • Forward Materials related issues to the Contracts Administrator to support the claims mitigation process.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, as directed, across all aspects of Materials Management.
  • Report/contribute to Lessons Learned and Risk Processes.

Education and Experience
8 years of experience in a Supply Chain and/or Construction with a minimum of 5 years in Materials Management.
Post secondary diploma or degree in Business or Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience.

Typical office environment working with computers at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
