Inspector

MWH Constructors is currently seeking a Construction Inspector for water/wastewater project work in the West Palm Beach, FL area. The Inspector will be instrumental in assuring that the work in the field is in compliance with the requirements of the contract and the expectations of the client.

Job Responsibilities:
•Provide single-point field inspection of subcontractor's work representing the Construction Manager in the field.
•Coordinate activities with the Quality Control manager daily.
•Coordinate with the general superintendent on all quality issues.
•Coordinate with the Client Quality Assurance inspector on all quality issues.
•On a daily basis monitor and record all work scope being executed and prepare a comprehensive Daily Report including photos, listing quality inspections performed, and any deficiencies.
•Understand contract documentation and inspection and testing plans for the designated Work Package.
•Ensure subcontractor prepares prompt requests for information (RFI's) for questions that may affect the construction schedule.
•Review, analyze and record any construction issues potentially resulting in a scope, time or cost impact to the work of the Contractor which may result in a change to the contract.
Assist the Quality Control manager in the preparation and presentation of Preparatory Meetings.
•Attend, as necessary, Weekly Progress Meetings with Contractor, including review of progress to planned schedule.
•Develop project specific quality control and assurance.
•Assist with planning and coordinating field testing and inspections in accordance with the Contract Documents.
•Document compliance and non-compliance with established quality control and quality assurance procedures.
•Work with Construction Manager to implement methodology and criteria to resolve any non-compliance notices previously issued.
•Review and submit all test reports for inclusion in turnover documentation to Owner.
•Prepare written reports documenting QA/QC inspections, non-compliance notices, and corrective actions.

Qualifications

•Minimum of 5 years of relevant construction industry & inspection experience.
•Thorough understanding of construction safety, quality control and general contract management requirements necessary.
•Equivalent combination of related experience and technical training may be substituted.
