Stantec is seeking a dynamic Hydrogeologist to join our team. There will be the flexibility to work remotely throughout the country in response to opportunities, although we would like you to spend some time in our offices. You will play a central role in delivering water resources, environmental and hydrogeology projects for a range of public and private sector projects. Our current workload includes the production of water resources and hydrology reports and ongoing water resources and related hydrological advice for a variety of clients and infrastructure projects in the water, energy and community development sectors.

As a member of our Hydrological Sciences team, your role will involve input into hydrological and water resources investigations including undertaking field work, data analysis, producing reports and related deliverables.

About You

You will have a degree in a relevant subject, and preferably hold a postgraduate degree in hydrogeology and/or water resources management, with or working towards chartership with a relevant institution such as CIWEM, and the Geological Society of London.

Proven experience working across multidisciplinary teams and will be expected to provide high quality work within agreed timescales, budget and quality frameworks is essential. You will support engagement with clients as well as building and maintaining effective relationships within and outside the company. Geochemistry, hydrometry, abstraction impact investigation or groundwater modelling experience would be an advantage with a broad understanding of the water environment and will be able to support the wider water resources team when required, adding to our team flexibility and maintaining consistent utilisation.

You will also have the following:-
  • Industry experience in consultancy in the UK.
  • Experience in pumping tests, hydrogeological investigations and hydrometry
  • Experience in the use of GIS for data analysis, and in the use of data bases, and graphing packages
  • Good time management, and commercial awareness
  • Understanding of water engineering and how it relates to the natural environment including impact assessment
  • Understanding of the planning regime, policy and constraints with regard to WRMP
  • Understanding and application of GIS or modelling approaches to support hydrological and water resources assessments.
  • Strong promoter and user of digital enabling environments
