Your Duties Stantec seeks to hire a mid-level (6 - 12 years of experience) civil/environmental engineer having a strong technical background, good communication skills, and general environmental knowledge and understanding to complete a variety of office and field-related tasks. Office-related tasks will include leading and assisting with engineering calculations, data reduction, data tabulation, data evaluation, modeling, design drawing and specification preparation, and report writing. The position will entail the development of erosion and sediment control plans, NPDES permits, and associated post-construction storm water management plans.

The candidate will also be involved with environmental-related projects inclusive of Superfund and State site remediation design, water and wastewater treatment evaluation and design, operation and maintenance, and land development associated with major industrial and utility projects. In support of these assignments, the candidate will lead and assist in the preparation of remedial design drawings and specifications, construction permits, site investigation plans/reports, and remedial action plans/reports.

The candidate will also assist project managers and other staff with technical writing, proposal preparation, and cost estimating in support of ongoing business execution and development with new and existing clients.

The position will require supporting projects primarily in the states of Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, and New York, but travel to other states may be required periodically.

Your Capabilities and Credentials The preferred candidate should have a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in civil or environmental engineering, with 6 to 12 years of professional experience in civil/environmental consulting or associated master's degree work. Professional registration is a plus.

The candidate will have a valid U.S. driver's license and will be proficient in commonly-used office software (e.g., Word, Excel, etc.). Experience with commercially-available software for data analysis and modeling is a plus (e.g., aquifer test, storm water models).

The successful candidate will have good skills related to verbal and written communication, organization, and will be detailed-oriented. The candidate must demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team in a proactive Health and Safety culture. The ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen and physical is required.
