Your Key Responsibilities

This is a seasonal position working with our Environmental Restoration group, out of our Little Canada, Minnesota office. Responsibilities include:

Ecological Restoration: Primary activities include, but are not limited to, carrying out tasks related to prairie, wetland, and other natural community restoration and management. Specific job tasks include application of various herbicides, mowing, installation of native seeds and plants, prescribed burning, and brush/tree removal. Equipment operations may include chainsaws, backpack herbicide sprayers, ATV, skidsteer and tractor with various attachments. Maintain records for restoration activities and safety program.

Data Collection & Reporting: Occasional responsibilities include assisting project managers, staff scientists and senior scientists with the collection of field and written/tabular data for various types of tasks and report preparation on an as-needed basis.

Your Capabilities and Credentials


  • Valid state driver's license
  • Ability to walk 2-4 miles per day in rough terrain and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to obtain MN Pesticide Applicators license within one month

  • Valid Class A commercial driver's license
  • Knowledge of Minnesota flora, natural areas, and ecology
  • Possess a MN Pesticide Applicators license
  • Experience utilizing hand power tools (e.g. chainsaw/brush saw) and operation of ATV/UTV; and
  • Previous prescribed burn experience with S130 & S190 NWCG training courses

Education and Experience

Undergraduate or Associates Degree in an environmental discipline
