Civil Engineering Designer

Stantec Consulting, Inc. has an immediate need for a Civil Designer to support our New England Water practice.
This is an o pportunity to work on some of the largest water infrastructure projects in New England.
Your Duties: The Associate Civil Engineer will support planning, design, construction and project management for municipal wet weather/wastewater projects. Under the supervision of a technical manager, the Associate Engineer will work in a supporting role related to the core wet weather and wastewater engineering functions of the business unit.
This individual may conduct tasks such as:
- Field inspection programs; data collection and evaluation;
- drafting/drawing; preparation of reports, plans and specifications;
- general engineering tasks;
- support to technical projects such as wastewater/stormwater treatment and conveyance.
- The position is to initially provide on-site field engineering tasks with opportunities for career growth in other design and construction activities supporting our New England clients.
Your Capabilities and Credentials:
The person who fills this role must have:
completed at least a BS in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering MS preferred.
0-5 years of experience.
Experience using ACAD and GIS preferred.
It is preferred that he/she have field experience with urban, underground infrastructure projects, including sewers, drains, water lines, utilities and surface reconstruction.
The person who fills this role must have good verbal and written communication skills, be team oriented and highly self-motivated, possess good problem solving skills, and be willing to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
The Associate/Professional Civil Engineer will be performing work predominantly in Springfield, MA, therefore local candidates are preferred. No funding is available for relocation expenses.
