Civil Engineer

MWH is seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Level Civil/Geotechnical Engineer for our Salt Lake City, Utah office. The primary focus of this position is to serve regional natural resources, industrial, municipal, state and federal clients. This position will require a dynamic individual who can interface with clients, perform business development, site investigations, detailed design development, calculations, and expert report writing. This position interacts throughout the organization internally and externally with client and members of business and professional organizations. Travel will be required and some projects require working at remote sites.

Specific activities to be performed by the applicant include:
1. Following safe work practices and adheres to company and client guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner. MSHA and OSHA training will be required.
2. Developing, overseeing, and interpreting geotechnical investigations; primarily focused on mining projects and industrial sites.
3. Experience working on CERCLA and RCRA projects.
4. Preparing technical memoranda and detailed reports pertaining to field investigations and studies.
5. Developing design drawings and construction specifications related to civil and geotechnical disciplines.
6. Capabilities with slope stability and hydrology/hydraulic modeling software.
7. Developing preliminary budgets, determining project scope, establishing schedules, processing appropriate paperwork, and interacting with clients.
8. Preparing proposals and assist in preparing and providing presentations.
9. Externally focused with established clients and capable of developing business.
