Business & Professional Services (BPS) Practice

A subsector within the TMT practice is BPS which consists of individuals with strong backgrounds in management consulting and professional services who bring firsthand knowledge of the sectors they serve and the best talent in those areas.

In the last three years, the BPS practice has conducted nearly 800 executive searches (senior executives and board members) for clients ranging from the largest global providers to highly specialized boutiques specializing in strategy operations, specialty consulting, business process outsourcing, accounting services and other cross-industry business-to-business services.

Position Summary

The TMT/BPS analyst is responsible for producing industry and/or functional analysis reports in support of search engagements, internal meetings and new business initiatives. This includes competitive information, trends across sub-sectors and target company list development. The analyst provides analysis and conclusions to be incorporated into client-ready documents. Over time, it is expected that the analyst will develop industry expertise by maintaining an awareness of industry trends and “best in class” leaders/future leaders.

This is a full time role and will ideally be based in Spencer Stuart’s Boston or Washington DC office.

Ideal Experience

We are eager to hear from recent graduates (1-2 years of work experience) or members of the Class of 2018 interested in exploring professional services opportunities within the field of executive search. Applicants should have majored in liberal arts, business, or related fields of study and evince general well-roundedness, including significant leadership experience. A 3.5+ GPA is desired.

The successful candidate is someone who is self-directed, independent and able to proactively address the needs of the practice. Outstanding candidates will have demonstrated a passion and ability for performing critical research and communicating their findings clearly and cogently. They will be graceful under pressure, enjoy fast paced environments, and be excellent multitaskers.

Compensation and benefits are commensurate with other high-end professional services firms.
