Legal, Compliance & Regulatory (LCR) Practice

In a complex global business environment with increased scrutiny around governance issues and stringent regulatory demands, recruitment of world-class general counsel and senior in-house lawyers is critical. Our Legal, Compliance & Regulatory (LCR) consultants, all of whom are former practicing lawyers, bring a sophisticated understanding of the legal role in the corporate world and extensive senior-level legal search experience to each assignment.

  • Over the past two years, the LCR Practice has conducted more than 500 legal search assignments for clients around the world.
  • The team of legal search consultants conducts searches for General Counsel and other top in-house counsel and for Chief Compliance Officers for multinationals.

The LCR team’s expertise spans all industries and includes the following areas:

Position Summary

The LCR Analyst will be responsible for developing significant content and producing industry and/or functional analysis reports to support search engagements, special projects and new business initiatives. To accomplish this, the analyst will gather, synthesize, make recommendations and present information. He/she will also play a significant role in knowledge creation within the firm, including responsibility for research projects building Spencer Stuart’s knowledge of executive talent within industries and companies. In addition, the analyst may have opportunities to engage and contribute to intellectual capital pieces on behalf of the Practice. 

Over time, the LCR Analyst is expected to develop in-depth knowledge of the legal, compliance and regulatory functions; gaining this expertise includes understanding the implications of current news and issues, becoming familiar with executive leadership across a range of companies, and understanding market influences.  He/she will develop a deep understanding about leadership, expertise in a segment of the legal function and a sophisticated skill set in the areas of research, problem solving, project management and communication. The LCR Analyst is mentored by leaders in the practice within an apprenticeship model of learning.

This is a full time role located in the Philadelphia Spencer Stuart office.

Ideal Experience

We are eager to hear from recent graduates or members of the Class of 2016 interested in exploring professional services opportunities within the field of executive search. Applicants should have majored in liberal arts, business, or related fields of study and evince general well-roundedness, including significant leadership experience. A 3.5+ GPA is desired. Outstanding candidates will have demonstrated a passion and ability for performing critical research and communicating their findings clearly and cogently. They will be graceful under pressure, enjoy fast paced environments, and be excellent multitaskers. Compensation and benefits are commensurate with other high-end professional services firms.
