Financial Services Practice

The Financial Services Practice is on the firm's largest, most successful, and globally integrated practice areas. Representing nearly one-fifth of the firm's worldwide client base, the Financial Services Practice is staffed by experienced industry practitioners around the world.

Consumer Financial Practice

Our Consumer Financial Services (CFS) Practice is one the largest and fastest growing segments of our overall Financial Services team. the CFS team conducts search work across functions for consumer and commercial banks, credit card companies, and payment companies. Typical searches in this space include CEOs, CFOs, Chief Credit Officers, and heads of business units. The CFS team also does a fair amount of Chief Marking Officer search work for both large financial institutions, and smaller groups as well. The group has seen particular growth in mobile payments, and digital marketing in the recent past, as firms change how they interact with consumers.

Position Summary

The CFS Analyst will be responsible for developing significant content and producing industry and/or functional analysis reports to support search engagements, special projects, and new business initiatives. To accomplish this, the analyst will gather, synthesize, make recommendations and present information. He/she will also play a significant role in knowledge creation within the firm, including responsibility for research projects building Spencer Stuart's knowledge of executive talent within industries and companies. In addition, the analyst may have opportunities to engage and contribute to intellectual capital pieces on behalf of the Practice.

Over time, the CFS Analyst is expected to develop in-depth knowledge of the consumer financial services sector; gaining this expertise includes understanding the implications of current news and issues, becoming familiar with executive leadership across a range of companies, and understanding market influences. He/she will develop a deep understanding of leadership, expertise in a segment of the industry and a sophisticated skill set in the areas of research, problem-solving, project management, and communication. The CFS Analyst is mentored by leaders in the practice within an apprenticeship model of learning.

This is a full-time role located in the Philadelphia Spencer Stuart office.

Ideal Experience

We are eager to hear individuals with ideally 1-2 years of full-time work experience interested in exploring professional services opportunities within the field of executive search. Applicants should have majored in liberal arts, business, or related fields of study and evince general well-roundedness, including significant leadership experience. A 3.5+ GPA is desired. Outstanding candidates will have demonstrated a passion and ability for performing critical research and communicating their findings clearly and cogently. They will be graceful under pressure, enjoy fast paced environments, and be excellent multi-taskers. Compensation and benefits are commensurate with other high-end professional services firms.
