Responsibilities:

  • Develops and administers departmental operating budget and sets priorities for spending, based upon Company guidelines and strategy. Manages spending accordingly
    • Manages repair and maintenance expense budget Monitors and approves invoices for specific projects
    • Maintains positive working relationships with the Department of Weights and Measures, E.P.A. and other applicable Federal, State and Local officials
    • Develops Corporate maintenance policies and procedures, in conjunction with Management
    • Researches and recommends specific maintenance contractors; ensures that all contractors have been approved for use by Commercial Services.
  • Ensures that all necessary paperwork, including performance appraisals, is completed in a timely fashion

  • Hires, trains, evaluates and motivates a team of maintenance personnel
  • Recommends the replacement of various mechanical or electrical equipment
  • Oversees maintenance repairs for stores and buildings in the assigned area
  • Understands and ensures compliance with applicable OSHA rules and regulations
  • Interfaces with Construction Department on major building and equipment repairs
  • Oversees updates to employee information database
  • Develops monthly maintenance reports as needed
  • Completes other duties as assigned by Manager

    Education Requirements:
    • Bachelors Degree or equivalent education and experience

      Experience Requirements:
    • 5 years of Supervisory experience preferred

      Skill Requirements:
    • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and other MS Office suite applications
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to research and resolve issues
    • Good understanding of intra-department functions and operations
    • Knowledge of various types of maintenance equipment and ways to perform necessary repairs
    • Ability to perform repeated bending, standing, and reaching
    • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds

      Additional Requirements:
    • Available to work a variety of shifts and/or days of the week consistent with the demands of the retail environment
    • Work on an on-call basis for emergencies as needed
