Director, Enterprise Business Development - Ad Sales

Spectrum Reach is seeking a Director, Enterprise Business Development to drive revenue and sponsorships for Spectrum News and our Enterprise division.

Essential Job Functions:

This position will provide dedicated focus and collaboration with National Sales and Preferred teams to drive new Enterprise business opportunities with top agencies and direct clients.
Essential Job Competencies:
  • Sale of all Spectrum Reach products including linear and advanced advertising assets on all platforms, including sponsorships on Spectrum News
  • Assessment of top customer objections, industry myths and existing paradigms that are preventing potential clients from investing in linear and digital assets in cable. Help in creation of compelling business case to use across categories/clients that are not active in this area.
  • In-depth knowledge of client's business and competitive categories
  • Full review and in-depth understanding of available in-house and syndicated research, industry and market trends, as well as Spectrum Reach viewer, ratings and across-platform business data to activate clients on air.
  • Sale and implementation of creative and promotional concepts that will activate client in the News space
  • Partner and coordinate with all cross functional teams to generate and execute business plans and strategies in order to generate revenue and achieve budget goals
  • Contributing in the creation and implementation of a national sponsorship sales strategy that is scalable across all Spectrum News markets.
  • Managing compliance across all systems and processes within all Spectrum markets, including:
    • Rate & inventory management
    • Sponsorship value proposition
    • Positioning the brand for success within the advertising community
    • Coordinating and developing single source order entry solution for enterprise news footprint.
  • Reports directly to GVP, Divisional & National Sales while interacting closely with the VP of Sales for Spectrum Networks and VP of Network Marketing in order to achieve assigned revenue budget
  • Development and coverage of key accounts and new business targets across the Enterprise footprint
  • Traveling to agencies and accounts purchasing media within Charter's footprint or where Spectrum News channels operate
  • Working closely with Spectrum Network Marketing teams on both linear and digital sales sponsorship opportunities
  • Working with Spectrum Reach Research team on relevant positioning and sales opportunities
  • Working with Kernel on video billboard integration for all news sponsorships across the enterprise
  • Working with Spectrum Reach Field Marketing team on lead generations and support materials
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • 8+ years in related news media/advertising/sponsorship Sales with a proven successful track record of meeting and exceeding multi-million dollar sales goals.
  • 5+ years of Sales leadership experience; preferably within Ad Sales in news or sports
  • Must bring unique strengths in the areas of strategic thinking, analytical capability coupled with business strategy
  • Proven track record of developing brand new customer partnerships through comprehensive CNAs and custom solutions.
  • Sales experience working with advertising agencies/media buying services and process involved in bringing clients to market across multiple media.
  • Deep knowledge of advertising infrastructure, ad operations, data analytics, yield analysis, advanced Digital media platforms, Interactive Media, client & relationship development.
  • Excellent organizational skills and analytical skills. Critical thinking, problem solving, and superior customer focus.
  • Driving is a requirement for this position. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License and safe driving record.
