Recreation Coordinator

Job Description

PART-TIME - Experience working with youth in a structured environment. Great customer care and attention to details. Flexibility to work any day including weekends from 3pm-8pm.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Property Manager, and entire team in the promotion of resident relations and customer satisfaction at all times
  • Maintains a close rapport with community children/teenagers, involving them in establishing community programs such as sports/exercise, arts & crafts, holiday events, tutorial, etc. and establishing other new programs as appropriate
  • Reports potential safety hazards to Property Manager and corrects hazardous situations when appropriate.
  • Coordinates all Town Hall Meetings to get continuous feedback from residents
  • Manage all activities/sports/events on and off site and/or held at the community center
  • Ensure all residents taking part in the programs, activities, trips, etc., complete a registration agreement and/or a Parental Release Form. Manage Community Center policies and guidelines; handle residents' pool passes and Recreation Center IDs; issue key faubs; schedule repairs and cleaning of the Center with the appropriate departments
  • Organize and plan resident activities.
  • Produce flyers to inform residents of all activities offered/upcoming community events
  • Act as a responsible mentor and guide to our younger residents as appropriate
  • Staying abreast of new games, activities, etc
  • Taking proper actions in emergency situations
  • Schedule speakers to give educational information to residents
  • Maintain accurate log-in records
  • Ensure Recreation facilities are operated and maintained effectively and safely
  • Answer telephones promptly and accurately to ensure customer service
  • Contribute to the team's effort by accomplishing tasks and assisting with projects as needed
  • Comply with all Southern Management's policies and procedures
  • Perform various other duties as assigned

Skills Required

  • Ability to keep accurate and neat records, meet deadlines, and perform simultaneous multiple tasks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to cooperatively maintain positive relations with SMC management, residents, fellow team members, the public and local government and community organizations
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, self-motivational skills, and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle stress, pressure, and emergency situations with poise and sensitivity
  • Working knowledge with Microsoft® Office 2000
  • Proficient use of Yardi as it relates to job responsibilities within 60 days of training
  • Effective problem solving skills
  • Excellent customer service and sales skills
  • Must be goal oriented with regards to management objectives
  • Southern Difference Institute Graduate or attendee
