Senior Manager, FP&A
What's next in music happens on SoundCloud first. As the world’s largest open audio platform, SoundCloud is powered by a connected community of creators, listeners and curators who share, discover and influence what’s new, now and next in music and audio. We reach hundreds of millions of listeners globally every month, many of whom listen on mobile. We’re looking for someone with a passion for numbers and experience in FP&A, ready to help us hit the right tunes in planning, drive the business and hit our numbers.
As Senior Manager FP&A you will engage in both regular reporting, as well as in a number of high-profile projects, allowing you to constantly display your talents and hone your skills in a variety of ways. This role is specifically focussing on revenue and you will work with our various teams to drive the business and bring SoundCloud to the next level.
You will play a key role in operational and financial planning (the “FP”), as well as monitoring and analyzing scenarios and results (The “A”).
You will be in the center of the action and help the management team make decisions on a daily basis: by applying your analytics and benchmarking experience, you will have a strong foundation to extract, analyze, and visualize key data. You will work closely with the wider finance team, but also in cross-functional settings allowing you to have an impact across the organization whilst at the same time developing your skills on a daily basis.
You are an analytical thinker with attention to detail, ready to solve complex cross-functional problems. Based on your intellectual curiosity, you don’t need micromanagement - working independently and in a fast paced environment excites you. Operationally, you live for the challenge, breaking it into small, achievable pieces whilst focusing on delivery. As a self-starter with the ability to manage priorities, your intrinsic motivation to level up is matched by your ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and projects. Basically, you’ve got strong computer skills, a commercial mindset, coolness under pressure, and are opinionated yet pragmatic when it comes to approaches and technologies.
As a team player, you create a shared sense of direction and community among stakeholders, and demonstrate excellent communication skills. You exhibit executive presence and the ability to interact with senior management in an agile, international environment.
Ideal candidates carry a degree from a top university and bring several years of relevant work experience in Financial Planning and Analysis. This means having worked in fast-growth tech-companies, blue-chip corporates or management consulting, covering forecasting to reporting, financial modeling. Understanding of subscription-based business models and marketing will be a plus, though we are specifically looking for an individual with thorough understanding of finance and the ability to work with many stakeholders - as a well rounded contributor, your attitude will make the difference.
You bring solid knowledge of:
- Excel skills (pivot, macros)
- Financial Modeling and Subscription models
- Adaptive Insight planning tool is a plus
- Web technologies, Web Analytics and Online Marketing
- Databases and Data Analysis (SQL, statistics etc.) are a plus
- Agile methodologies and effective communication, leveraging tools and technologies
- Basic accounting skills - ERP and accounting software; we use Oracle Fusion.
- 5-8 years of experience
- If this sounds like you, let us know by sending us your CV and cover letter that provides insight about your experience.
