Royalties Analyst

SoundCloud is the world’s leading social audio platform, allowing everyone to discover unique content anytime, anywhere. We enrich people's lives through the shared love of sound. We’re looking for a Royalties Analyst to join our Royalties and Reporting team in NYC or Berlin.

Your Role

You will be part of a team that is responsible for building and tailoring the systems and processes that take data from across our product, calculate the royalties due to each party, and report on both the royalties as well as wider datasets that we share with our partners. You will make sure the calculations and reports are accurate. You will contribute to the vision and strategy for our royalties and reporting systems and processes, to ensure that we are thinking not just about how we meet the next reporting deadline, but how we build and structure a product that benefits both SoundCloud and the creators we are paying in the long run. You’ll work with internal stakeholders, as well as directly with our content partners, including record labels, music publishers, and collecting societies.

Requirements

  • At least 1-2 years experience working in an analytical or reporting-related role in the digital space. Previous music industry experience is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills, and experience working with large data sets
  • Superior planning, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, within tight deadlines
  • Exceptional written/verbal communication skills & interpersonal/team skills
  • Experience with SQL and/or Tableau is a plus

You are an analytical thinker with attention to detail, ready to solve complex cross-functional problems. Based on your intellectual curiosity and your commercial sense, you don’t need micromanagement - Working independently and in a fast-paced environment excites you. As a self-starter with the ability to manage priorities, your intrinsic motivation to level up is matched by your ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and projects.

Diversity at SoundCloud

SoundCloud is for everyone. Diversity and open expression are fundamental to our organization; they help us build a social platform and global community where anyone can create, discover, and share sounds. We acknowledge the challenges in our industry, and strive to develop an inclusive culture where everyone can contribute.
