MBA Intern, Growth and Strategic Development (Stanford)

About The Role

SoFi is seeking an MBA Intern for Growth and New Channel Development to identify, develop, and execute unique opportunities to measure and raise brand awareness of SoFi as well as drive product consideration. These opportunities may include sponsoring conferences and pitch competitions as well as hosting informal informational sessions. This person will be a crucial part of our MBA-campus grassroots marketing strategy with the freedom to creatively apply his or her own skills and experiences to achieve major organizational objectives. It’s an ideal position for a high-performing, relationship-oriented individual with a background in marketing and a passion for promoting financial wellness. This role is an internship lasting through the end of the academic year with the opportunity to extend into a second year for successful candidates, and it requires approximately 5 hours of work per week.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth market research to assess brand awareness and unique campus opportunities
  • Develop campus-specific go-to-market plan for generating buzz around SoFi brand and products
  • Identify possible campus sponsorship and partnership opportunities
  • Forge and foster relationships with key university contacts including campus club leaders and influencers
  • Craft, post, and share relevant content on university social media channels
  • Work closely with Graduate School Coordinator to plan and coordinate on and near-campus events including happy hours, career panels, conferences, and product informational sessions
  • Collaborate on strategy and best-practices with other MBA students from top-tier universities across the country
  • The role will include approximately 5 hours of work per week, with the possibility for more depending on performance and needs

Qualifications

  • Must be a First Year MBA student
  • 1-3 years’ experience in marketing
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, willing to assume responsibility
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Experience building a brand is preferred, but not required
  • Prior knowledge of SoFi an advantage
