Our customers are at the heart of our business. Socotra’s BDD Team is responsible for managing our most strategic relationships. You’ll manage deployments/implementations across our customer base from startups to Fortune 100 insurers in this role. You will work closely with senior executives at these companies engaging in commercial and technical conversations at multiple levels within an organization. You will be the customer’s internal advocate. 

You will be responsible for understanding their unique needs, driving (and project managing) the adoption of Socotra, and working across internal product teams to help build the next generation of insurance software in line with customer needs. We’re looking for a natural relationship builder/leader and technical insurance consultant. You will effectively manage both day-to-day conversations, and high-level strategic discussions focused on creating value and driving revenue for our customers.

You will:

  • Own the full onboarding cycle of a new customer, from when the initial deal is signed through them going live in production
  • Be responsible for proactively developing and project managing a customer’s deployment architecture, insurance product configuration, strategy, and timeline
  • Lead and contribute to team projects to develop, improve, and scale our on-boarding process
  • Engage with Product and Engineering teams to help drive product strategy
  • Support  the Sales team to help support pre-sales opportunities
  • Lead technical architecture discussions 
  • Respond to technical questions raised by prospects
  • Lead technical demos 
  • Lead RFP’s and POC’s 
  • Travel up to 25% of the time to spend time with customers around the world (When it's safe)

You Should have:

  • P&C or Life Insurance subject matter expertise 
  • 5+ years of experience working with customers at a technology company (preferably at an Insurtech company)
  • Broad knowledge of modern enterprise software technologies
  • Able to build a deep understanding of Socotra’s platform, configuration, and APIs and explain complex API concepts to Socotra’s largest customers
  • Ability to understand complex enterprise requirements and create creative solutions
  • Understanding of cloud computing and SaaS industry trends
  • Understanding of insurance concepts and be able to explain insurance workflows to customers
  • Proven project management skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills, including the ability to identify suboptimal internal processes
  • Ability to recognize repeated customer-facing issues and build scalable solutions
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience presenting to senior executives
  • Ability to operate in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment

This position is remote or can be based in our San Francisco office and includes salary and equity commensurate with experience and location.
