Planning Associate

Position Summary:

The primary objective of this position is to support the North America Planning Manager to execute Smashbox corporate strategy and achieve financial targets. This position requires the ability to initiate and develop sound relationships internally, working as liaison between the field sales team, North America Marketing, Customer Service, Demand Planning, and Supply Planning.

Account Management

  • Sales & Inventory Analysis - Door & SKU level to ensure Retailer's order sufficiently
  • Manage and track all Collateral Passport Orders
  • Manage excess and obsolete non-saleable & collateral items in PADC indicating when items are no longer required to be held in inventory
  • Manage New door Opening process
  • Maintain door alignment
New Launches
  • Develop suggested launch quantities by retailer using global benchmarks. Send to NA channels and collect all feedback/launch quantities and provide to demand planning (US, CA, Online, Press forecasts, Training, free, etc.)
  • Create and maintain saleable and non-saleable at a glance documents to manage allocations. Reconcile actual shipments with allocations monthly and advise the team on any significant deviations.
  • Launch all events in SAP using LFW (3 months prior to launch) and work closely with the event team to manage events
  • Track orders, approve re-orders, follow-up on un-ordered quantities, roll limited life items with demand
  • Troubleshooting issues
SAMPLES, GWPs and Collaterals - US, CA, & ONLINE
  • Responsible for managing the Passport and LFW systems used to allocate salable launches, samples, collateral and GWPs. maintain changes made to allocations, and generate reports to track orders of ordered/shipped vs. allocated to insure timely shipments and reduce excess.
    • Process all paid sampling orders (subscription boxes, favorites, etc.)


  • College degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience
  • Must be willing to travel 10% of time
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Ability to review and analyze stock and sales plans
  • Ability to analyze and review large amount of data in Excel
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Self starter and ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of inventory models and metrics
  • Understanding of forecasting and replenishment planning tools and systems a plus
