Director, Global Events, Smashbox

PRINCIPLE OBJECTIVE:

The Director of Events is responsible for:

  • Developing, planning, executing event concepts and strategies for all branded events, pushing for remarkable in all aspects of the role
  • Working closely with Global, International and NA Marketing, Sales, Education, PR, Online and Creative to develop event concepts, ideas and tools in multi category events for key retailers.
  • Overseeing Operational processes required to execute events in NA

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Strategic Vision:

  • Partner with Markets / Regions to brainstorm, strategize and develop cross category event concepts, collateral, and support materials
  • Partner with Sales teams to provide strategies/feedback for all event programs and individual account and market needs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Education, Creative, Marketing and Sales to coordinate initiatives to strengthen events and to ensure accurate brand messaging and visuals
  • Partner with Online and Social teams to ensure current event content and dates are being featured
  • Visit Markets regularly to ensure proper in store execution and accurate visual presentation of programs and to glean market needs (regional relevance)

Development and Training of Programs:

  • Manage all aspects of events, including global event strategy and objectives, new event ideas, planning, execution and event recaps
  • Plan, implement and execute strategies for Product launch events, Photo Events, Retailer Events and Exclusive Events and partnership events
  • Launch, test and develop guidelines for all new innovative event activity
  • Provide feedback for new events by liaising with North America Field Executives, International Markets and Regions
  • Track, analyze and recap all event category global sales results
  • Present Event programs to Retailers, Markets, Sales, and Field Executives.
  • Prepare and present Event Strategies and initiatives for Global Sales Meetings

Operations:

  • Maintain all financials/ budgeting to ensure accuracy and timeliness of execution and production
  • Ensure all collateral costs updated and reflect budget plan
  • Reconcile department and collateral budgets monthly
  • Work with Global Marketing to prepare fiscal planning and budgets

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate College degree preferred
  • Global experience preferred
  • Minimum 8 years relevant experience in the cosmetics/beauty field
  • Candidate must be a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
  • Candidate should be an enthusiastic leader committed to collective effort with a clear direction and passion to inspire others. Works cooperatively with peers, management, subordinates, and other departments.
  • Experiments with new concepts and approaches. Comes up with creative solutions to difficult problems

  • Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office applications

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Job will require both domestic and international travel
  • Travel estimated to be 35% of time
