Senior Site Reliability Engineer - Security

Smartsheet is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join our Security Engineering Team. In this role, you will directly help the reliability and performance of our critical security infrastructure; support 24/7 delivery to over 70,000 customers worldwide. You will work as part of the security team to improve essential security, availability and performance. We operate our products across both our own data centers, and public cloud providers, such as AWS. Our team owns essential business services like key and secret management, log aggregation and analysis.

You will report to the Senior Director, Security Engineering and is based in Bellevue, WA HQ.

  • Kubernetes or Docker Containerization - 2+ Years
  • Infrastructure as Code - 3+ Years
  • Terraform definitions for cloud resources - 3+ Years
  • Puppet or other similar configuration management - 3+ Years
  • Knowledge of CI/CD best practices.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing at scale on AWS, GCP, or Azure - 3+ Years
  • Proficient with basic internet protocols (eg HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP) - 3+ Years
  • Source control through Git.
  • Programming and Scripting languages such as Java, Go, Python, Bash, Ruby - 3+ Years
  • Linux administration - 3+ Years.
  • Incident investigation and management.

You will:

  • Have a desire to learn and understand new technologies.
  • Be a critical thinker with an ability to positively contribute in a production support environment.
  • Have experience troubleshooting and work and as part of a wider incident team..
  • Legally eligible to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis.
  • BS in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
