Business Operations Manager

Smartsheet is looking for a Business Operations Manager to help leaders across the business increase our effectiveness as a company. The Business Operations team works cross-functionally to manage an effective rhythm of the business, analyze business performance and surface insights, identify and recommend ways to improve our top and bottom line, and steer strategic projects. 

In this role, you will have high visibility and involvement in important strategic and operational initiatives that span teams across Smartsheet. Example projects the team has been involved in include helping to define Smartsheet’s international expansion plans, effectively capturing ROI to inform decisions on new investments, and coordinating our annual planning processes. 

You can be based in our offices in Bellevue, WA or Boston, MA or remote.

You Will:

  • Solve key strategic questions through both quantitative and qualitative analysis 
  • Increase Smartsheet's understanding of what drives our growth and profitability and proactively identify key risks and opportunities for the business
  • Steer the development of proposals for new initiatives and define and track key metrics to assess their performance
  • Manage regular reporting on business performance, including identifying key gaps and emerging trends and surfacing these insights to leadership
  • Gather and analyze data on key business performance questions. Partner with other teams to frame issues, develop hypotheses, and turn insights into actionable go-forward plans 
  • Support our annual planning and OKR processes

You Have:

  • 6+ years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, analytics, business operations or similar role within a technology company
  • Ability to think across multiple dimensions of the business (marketing, sales, product, etc.) and work cross-functionally to drive projects to completion
  • Shown an ability to work through complex problems and draw meaningful insights using data. Strong data analysis skills including experience working with large data sets and building models 
  • Strong understanding of SaaS business economics
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to present complex ideas and recommendations clearly and succinctly and influence decisions 
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools including Tableau and SQL is desired
