Ad Operations Trafficker

Position Objective: Ad Operations is a critical, multidisciplinary function that interfaces with every department within SmartBrief. The Ad Trafficker position is responsible to receive, review and process advertising campaign material. The main objective of the Ad Trafficker is the day to day management of advertising campaigns, which includes campaign trafficking, targeting, pacing, optimization, and reporting. The Ad Trafficker will work closely with the Sales team and the Account Managers, to keep them abreast of any/all campaign changes, delivery concerns, and optimization suggestions.

Essential Duties:

  • Assigned a team of Sales people/industries to support
  • Liaise with clients to secure advertising creative assets and answer ad specification questions in a timely manner
  • Manage campaign process, including requesting creative, tracking pixels and troubleshooting ad issues
  • Upload, test and schedule advertising creative using SmartBrief ad servers to ensure timely start and full delivery of all ad campaigns
  • Troubleshoot ad creative issues that affect tracking, pacing, implementation, and/or reporting
  • Proactively investigate issues (delivery discrepancies, technical issues, etc.) with clients, agencies, third-party platforms, and/or internal parties and provide resolutions to these issues
  • Utilize internal ad serving platform and third party tools to perform detailed QA, and ensure that all ad units are built to spec and are running correctly
  • Send welcome emails to new clients detailing campaign requirements, dates and reporting options
  • Send ad previews for client approval
  • Send reminder emails to clients for upcoming ad runs
  • Send screenshots to clients once campaigns start
  • Learn multiple ad serving platforms, and stay up to date with the digital media ecosystem
  • Launch SmartBrief publications
  • Build and manage CPL campaigns
  • Provide CPL reporting to clients and reconcile discrepancies
  • Prepare and edit HTML code used to deliver ad creative for Dedicated Sends
  • Set up Dedicated Sends in Ad Server template and perform litmus tests
  • Schedule all special sends in Ad Server
  • Monitor daily campaign delivery and make adjustments necessary to ensure full delivery
  • Produce weekly trafficking reports showing delivery & ad pacing information in order to effectively make decisions on how to optimize campaigns
  • Respond to delivery report requests and provide regular delivery reports (weekly, monthly, and/or upon completion of campaigns) to advertising clients from all ad serving platforms
  • Run ad hoc reporting for internal and external parties upon request
  • Maintain third party agreements for remnant ad campaigns on all platforms
  • Make sure the Sales, Account Managers, and Clients are well informed with current campaign data
  • Partner with Product, Sales, Technology and Finance teams in supporting the ad serving and billing systems
  • Partner with Account Managers to maintain advertiser client relationships and their campaigns by providing excellent customer service
  • Document tasks and share in the maintenance of existing operational process documents ensuring that they are up-to-date

Requirements/Experience

  • 0-1 year of experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Online advertising/media company or creative agency/publicity firm background strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office
  • Experience with ad serving technology a strong plus
